Have you seen Barack Obama's State Of The Union speech or read about it? If you haven't, here are some things I learned about it.
President Barack Obama is raising the minimum wage for some federal workers, creating a new way for people to save money for retirement, and encouraging the use of alternative fuels for the good of the enviroment.
Barack Obama is connected to the U.S people, because he is making a new way of saving money, and doing something good for the enviroment. So he is thinking about others and the enviroment. He changing the way we save money and help the enviroment.
My teacher's perspective (Mrs.Ledger) is that this reminds her of JFK's speech where he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country."
He sounds like an IB learner as he talks about action. She also says that she is eager to see his plan for alternative fuels because thats something we are learning in 5th grade. My perspective on his speech is that I like his idea to create a way to save money for people who have retired and using alternative fuels to help the enviroment. I totally agree with him and I stand on his side.
My responsibility is to follow his rules and respect him.
From reading and researching about his speech, I learned that he is trying to help the enviroment and raising minimum wages.
Thanks for reading,
Caprice Haddad
