Trouble in Egypt

Hello and welcome back.We really thank everybody who visited our  blog and read our pieces of writing. The current events club in St.George Place Elemantry school has researched new topics about current events happening around the world. This time you will be hearing about a serious and sad conflict that has been happening in Egypt since 2013.

                                        What is it?
It is a protest for Mohamed Morsi, Egypt's president, to come out of jail. It is also a protest for  peoples rights because the Egyptian citizens want the military out of the country. They don't want the military but the goverment isn't giving a choice so people have to protest to get their rights.

What are people doing in the protests?

Millions of citizens have been in the streets hanging posters, doing speeches, and have been yelling"We want Morsi".The military of  Egypt have taken over the government  and was unfair to the citizens. They have killed people while they were prayer.

What is the circumstance that caused the conflict?
The cause of this conflict,as mentioned above, happened when Egypt's president, Mohamed Morsi, was thrown in jail.Another   circumstance that caused this conflict is wants and desire because the citizens wanted their president out of jail and the army to go back but the army wants to stay and take charge of Egypt.

                                What is it connected to?
The protests in Egypt is connected to other conflict that has or had been happened. For example, the protest for Gezi Parki at Turkey and the protests in Ukraine have similar impacts  and similar reactions so thats why the protests in Egypt  is connected to other protests.

                                   How is it changing?

The protests have been really changing but the way the army acts to people act has actually changed because now the army kills more citizens and they act like they own the place. But citizens are not giving up and are doing every thing they could to stand for what they believe and will always try new ways to communicate their message.

What are the points of view?
There are many views for the protests in Egypt. Some people think that its all the protesters fault that had started this conflict and these people call the protesters"terrorists".Some people think that it is the militaries fault and they have been acting too harsh to citizens. And some people think that  its neither sides fault and they want the conflict to end peacefully. My opinion of this conflict is that the citizens have every right to protest for their president to come out of jail and it is the military should consider the publics thoughts and feelings.

                                What is our responsibility?
Our responsibility is that first of all we should be caring to all people and no matter what they do we should understand them. Our second responsibility is to be good role-models to young children and not do what the  Egyptian  military is doing. Our third responsibility is to send donations like money, food, water, clothes, etc. There are many programs and places that travel your donations straight to Egypt.

                               Interesting Facts

  • The field marshal or commander is AbdulFatah al-Sisi.
